another instance of something compelling posted on tumblr, where art, life and work more than occasionally intersect.

what have

you done online to further your work today?

- email

- reading an article I downloaded (heard about through email, lost the attachment, went to the author's website and found it there)

- working through two online courses

- reading student drafts

- added a subscriber to my bulletin list

so, twitter

still a little ambivalent about twitter, generally, although I have a twitter account, but only have it because a friend's boss asked me to follow her, maybe, when - over a year ago?

one thing led to another, led to following, making lists, sorting stuff.

initially, I found myself following people who would make me laugh out loud.
then, some other media things, especially the NY Times headlines feed.

then some education people, but they'd take up ALL the screen with their many many posts, so now I sort them into different lists (ed, tech, media, telling and so on) and then sometimes I check them, but often I don't

and now I'm trying to see how or why or if this is a useful medium for learning.

more stuff to read, think about, do. fewer letters. Squeezing responses to twitter length - or replies on other platforms - does force me to think about how I write, forces me to small down, be concise, use only some of my words, sometimes for the better, sometimes unimportantly.

waiting to see.
what's next?

working world

minimum wage.

here

web world 2.0

lovely to be in a room full of practitioners.
16 people, 15 of us women.

sitting with Michele at the back of the room.
grateful for our community.

wondering how we help ourselves, work with adult learners and others in the broader community to use technology to gain access to information and resources we want and to utilize resources to help us with the technology we need.
