getting started

Here's a first post. Hoping that we'll be able to use this to share work - we may/may not still keep running tallies in grid form so that Jess and Jill can disaggregate the numbers, but let's see how this goes.

Trying to get some work done around the feedback from the NIFL/LINCS meeting last week and also wanting to ask BB if there might be a way that she could sit in on one of my reading sessions with Donald. I'm not making much progress and pretty much lack discipline with him in terms of working on any writing. Mostly our sessions are him reading aloud from kids' books that we choose together.

  1. Ok, so I would post that I have had a number of meetings and conversations(f2f, web, phone)with Robin, Worksource Partners, Way2goRI, Deb Anthes, Adrian from Rhode Island Foundation, and Aime Brissette of Stepping Up, all around figuring out how to use the United Way money we have to leverage moving the Workplan forward (the one about building capacity for Workforce Development in the AE system)... next step if for Robin and I to sit down with Worksouirce Partners and map out some deliverables...

  2. And I want to say that graduation at the ACI was better than I thought it would be--it was outside, it didn't rain, and I gave my speech, talk, in 7 minutes. I'm really glad it's over

  3. thank you for doing this Janet!!! Exciting! I'll have to find a picture later, but off to a meeting. Let's talk about Donald--does he need to be assessed? What level reader to you find him to be? Other concerns?

  4. hey
    this could be maybe working...
excellent about the ACI - can you share your speech with us, Barbara?

re: donald, assessment - hard to say. might be a separate message. He can decode some stuff, some times. he gets in his own way if he's worried or tired. we often meet on friday afternoons. my hope would be that you'd sit in and observe, maybe suggest, but then process with me later. ? are there a couple of time slots that might work for you that I could share with him?
